We always look forward to school holidays because it means we get to hold our workshops at the Ronald McDonald House Westmead. This school holiday period, we held a pottery workshop for the children.
We hold these workshops as part of our partnership with the Ronald McDonald House in Westmead. The Learning Program is an integral part of the children’s recovery at RMH and we love getting involved and presenting fun yet educational workshops like this.
Not only is pottery messy, fun and creative play, it also has countless other benefits like motor skill development, problem solving, self esteem and expression. But most importantly we love the calming effect that working with clay seems to have on the children. We find children get so engrossed in their works of art, as the ever changing qualities of the medium keeps them engaged while their imagination takes over.
Check out some of the happy snaps of the messy experience and some very creative masterpieces.
